i need help np203 guys!

im about to start the part time conversion on my 203 today with the milemarker shaft kit.

my question is about the oil pump gear...would my 79 have the plastic one stock? im askin cuz i called a chevy dealership with the part # and they're saying it has been discontinued.

ive read in a few places that the later model 203's already had a plastic oil gear, but i really dont know for sure.

Call a tranny shop, most of them rebuild tcases and can get you the parts your looking for.
