i rolled my rig not to long ago. i got everything on it back to working order. but i can't put in my windshield.i have it straight for the most part. but hte rubber from around the windshield will not sit all the way down on the windshield frame. i have tryed everything but putting heat on it. not sure exactly which way it needs to go. the whole thing is tweaked. if anyone has been through anything like this your help would be very useful. thanx

Good Luck, sounds like the frame and the window are not the same shape. But I bet you allready knew that so back to my original thought....... Good Luck!

I know two people who rolled their k-5's. Both had to shave the glass to get it to fit back on the truck. It's the only way you'll get it in without breaking it. let us know how you make out.

You call that dirty!?

Just kinda of a silly question, but you do have the locking strip removed from the seal, right?

i probly sound dumb with this but what is the locking strip? is it the use to be chrome thingy in the rubber gasket? if so it would not help any right now.

the glass that was in petersons is "speed glass" but is like 230 bucks.

Exactly

the locking strip, sometimes chrome, some black, pushes the rubber seal up against the frame and glass. A new seal and new locking strip will help installation, if the frame is as close as you can get it. If you're using the old rubber forget it. It's usually way to hard and brittle to make it seat. Install the rubber (WIITHOUT the locking strip) onto the glass, work the glass with seal into the frame, it will take patience for that. If you get it in there, then install locking strip. Hope that made some sense.

Hey Stu,

When I put my new window into my fiberglass top I couldnt get it in there for the life of me. I tried everything I knew. I finally took it to a glass shop and the guy took 2 minutes and wouldnt charge me so I bought him a case of beer. Worth a shot.

there are some other things wrong with it too that i'm getting sick of toying with. so i'm thinking about bringing it to a bodyshop. don't like but i want my truck on the trail again.
that and i'm not old enough to buy beer yet.
