I need major help. My rear window went bad. I got a new motor, hooked it up and it didnt work. I removed the wires and checked the resistance, and it seems like there is an open somewhere. The thing that throws me off is if i ground one of the wires going to the window motor while in the other wire is not grounded, the motor spins in only one direction, but only if the switch is in the right position. If the other wire is grounded it will turn in the other direction but only if the switch is in the other direction. I am so stumped. I am close to rewiring the whole thing. Please help me

It's the switch in the drivers side of the gate that notifies the system when the gate is open. They're known for dying. Just bypass it with a jumper wire and call it a day.

Or you can switch the down wire to the up side and use the same side of the switch. I've been doing this for months now since I'm too lazy to break into the gate and bypass the saftey switch.

thats not it. the switch works fine, and I also tried to bypass it and there is no change. It is something different.

there is not ground anywhere, if there was there would be a current flow and there isnt, but maybe the new motor is bad

the window moves, i took out the motor cause it kept getting slower and slower and the motor is shot. I got a new motor online, not nearly the same, it works, but i am thinking if you have the haynes or chilton you will see the skematic doesnt have a ground. the ground must be in the motor i am assuming.
