I replaced the door hinge pins and bushings on my 97 gmc. Doors open and close BEUTIFULLY body lines are straight again.

BUT!!!!!!!!!! I cannot get the damn springs back in. You know the ones that hold your door open. I tried 2 long screw drivers to try to pry them in YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OF THE SPRING THAT WAY. I tried channel locks to compress the spring but it just turns into a U shape PLUS you cant get the channel locks in there once the spring is compressed.

Damnit! someone have a trick to get these back in? Its not a huge problem but I would rather have them in so I dont have to always fight the door trying to close on me.

There is a special tool to compress the spring so you can slide it in. NAPA # BK770-3818
