Passenger side header is about a quarter inch from the four wheel drive shaft. Can I heat the headers and move them closer to the frame??? they're just cheapy flowtechs. no coatings.

I needed to adjust my headers so here is what I did. I took a piece of 2" pipe, wrapped a towel around it, sealed it in duct tape and stuck it in the open end of the header at the collector. I then got a small come along hand winch, hooked one side to the pipe and the other side to the frame rail. I then pulled the header to the position I needed it in and left it for a couple of days. When I took the hand winch off, it was perfect. I didn't heat it, and the towel and duct tape were to keep the pipe from scratching the ceramic coating on my Doug's headers.

You just have to get your headers into final position before you run the rest of the exhaust and you'll be fine. If the exhaust is all welded up and you move the engine or headers later you'll have a heck of a time ever getting the collectors sealed.

You dont even have to heat them up, I had some heddman hooker headers that hit the leaf spring shackle and the muff shop just stuck a pry bar and bent the header in some to clear the shackle, they moved it an inch or two. I didnt have any leaks

Here is a pic of how I did it. As stated, done cold and yes, it should be done before you run your other pipes or you may need to have them re-done.

Is your driveshaft on the outside of the header? My shaft runs on the inside of the header.. I'm running a 205 and D60... Maybe I could pull it the towards the outside... Hmmm... How's you have them run the exhaust after that? The support rod for the 205 is gonna make for a really funky bend...
