hello people,

I need new differential covers for the front and back. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like to get the mag hi tek brand, the prices are kind of steep. Is it $200 and something for two covers from them or just one? I would appreciate it if anyone can help me out here thanks,

Heather

What diffs? Is this a daily street driver or do you do some wheelin?
If you are hitting rocks you need something STRONG with
diff gaurds or other reinforcements. Have you looked
at the project vehicles on this site?
If it is street go with Mag.

I just got a stock Dana/Spicer replacement from Dynatrac for my Dana 44 up front and I got a really nice cover from http://www.taperformance.com for the rear.

Check out Con Ferr, they have some nice covers there. Also, check out the 4X Doctor (he is here in Los Angeles area), he has some diff protectors that will help you protect whichever one you buy. I am gonna go with the Con Ferrs some day, black with brushed tips...

Heather, are you interested in maybe meeting a few of us up at Big Bear next weekend? We are doing some wheeling up there on Sunday May 27th if you are interested. My post seems to languish near the bottom on here, not sure if you saw it. Anyways, if you are interested, let us know, we would love to have you join us on the trails!

I gotta ask what axles are you running...reason being if you have plans to upgrade then save your money and not get anything expensive now that you'll not be able to switch over in an upgrade. I was gonna get some for my 10b's but why bother once I save up enough for my upgrade these will be history....

Con Ferr is also owned by ORU. They bought out Con Ferr not too long ago. So, those covers you are looking at are the exact same thing as the ORU covers.

dont get the cheesy shiny chrome covers. i'm sure when the guy who i bought my truck from put them on they looked nice, but they were already pretty rusty when i got hold of the ride. now they simply look like crap, and they don't hold any more gear oil than stock. at least get something functional.

Unless they are real beat up why not just sand the old ones and paint them...$4 on a can of paint and some sand paper. Put the $196 towards beer.
