In my shop. Doing stuff.
Have been kicking around researching 2.5 military transporter trucks. This one has the box I want. Wife sent me the link and told me to go get it.

I just don't know enough about them. The site dedicated to them seem to be biased depending on who is posting. So I am at a loss. I know somebody on this board has got to know everything about them.

What would you be doing with it? Pretty cool truck, how many bypasses would it take to have it ready?

Nothing wrong with that, bet it would be a blast to drive. I drove a 90's Kodiak today with a cat motor, was fun rowing the gears. I didn't have it in me to grab the other stick to gear split.

Pain to drive. But the cool factor would be worth it. PRP seats sitting in my shed need some place to go.

My brother in law has a deuce and a half, that has a multi fuel diesel engine. It was converted from dual wheel to single and is fun to drive. Double clutch time. His runs like clockwork. He also has a few other military rigs. If you want I could put you guys in touch. He has had it a couple years or more and I know he has a neighbor that is also into them.

I assume you have been on steel soldiers??

That would be great to talk to someone who has one. Spent the last 2 nights on SS. Sensory overload.

I would love one of those old M35A trucks bobbed and fitted with singles. There is something just plain awesome about them haha

a lot of the reading I have done over the years I was going to get a 2.5 ton at 1 point but I have now decided to go to a 5 ton for better options .

better brakes / full power steering / bigger motor & few others .

The newer 900 series have the Allison Automatic in them. The guys I have talked with say to go that route. The multi fuel engine is not worth the trade off of the drivability newer versions.

900 series also has turbo motor over the first style 5 tons non turbo .

just make sure its not a early 900 series as I think some had non turbo engine also .

also get a 900 a2 model if you can . 900 = first run 900 a1 = first updates 900 a2 = newer again updates .
