i have been fooling for a week now on a 92 gmc s10 with the 4.3 it will run fine as long as it does not have any kind of load put on it / as soon as you put it in gear it dies / then to get it started back you have to turn it over and pump the pedal like it has a carb to get it to start back/ i have replaced every sensor and even the tbi unit and it still does the same thing any input would be apperacaited thanks:confused:

There are lots of easy things you can check before starting to randomly throw parts (and money) at it like it sounds you have.

The first thing I would check is the fuel pressure, my guess is it's low and therefore the pump is going bad.........but again I would check the pressure before throwing a new pump at it.

Fuel injection requires alot more pressure, Where did you take your reading from?

There is a problem with that. TBI requires 9-13 PSI to run correctly. Sounds like a bad pump to me. Also check the vacuum hose to your map sensor, if it's plugged or unhooked you get the same symptoms of idles fine but under a load will die.

if you only have 5PSI FP
First change the fuel filter
If that does not help the pump is probabally bad. Time to drop the fuel tank.

We had a 91 s10 blazer with the same problem. They have that spider injection that can fail at any moment. Turns out we replaced the fuel filter and pump and it ran great.
