Changed the cap, rotor, plugs and wires on the ‘Burb last night. It starts up and idles fine, but when I put her in gear and accelerate, I get a sputtering sound/vibration and zero power. It was late, so I packed it in for the night. I’m 95% sure I put the wires back on in the right order, but I’ll double check tonight.

Any other possible suggestions?

make sure you didnt move the dizzy and change your timing. also, make sure the vacuum advance is hooked up correctly. if it starts and idles fine then you prolly have the wires right. also, did you gap the spark plugs to spec?

Check that you have the correct order and have them on tightly. It's easy to mix up numbers 5 and 7. 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

Also make sure you put number 1 back in the correct spot. If it was moved one post over, would be like changing the timing.

Didn't mean to make that sound degrading, but I've bumped freshly gapped plugs, that closed one up, and I didn't realize it 'til it ran crappy.

It's cool. I didn't take it that way.:wink1:

I think I may have swapped 5 & 7. If that doesn't get it, I'll pull the plugs and check.
