So what is the real benefit to grove emup? I know BFG have some strips on the sidewalls to dislodge mud but , is it for any other specific type of wheeling?

some patterns clear mud better and other patterns will create more edges for the tire to grip on rocks. its like gripping with 4 smaller "fingers" instead of 2 big ones

Obijuan has some esplainin' to do....

That groover is like $600 retail, an awful lot to spend to groove a single set of tires. I'm hoping it's borrowed from work or a GOOD friend in the 'biz.

Secondly, those long strips of rubber in the discard pile clearly didn't come from YOUR tires.....how's about telling us the whole story?? :deal: :)

Used a borrowed groover from a buddy that works at PolyPerformance, it was a couple hundred dollar machine....like a hot knife thru butter. Anyway, this is a simple groove to help with the lugs conforming to the rocks witout to much increased wear and durability. So far, so good.

yeah i groove truck tires fo a livin. those are from some 11R22.5 tires, and it helps tremendously to sharpen the blades with a needle file, half moon and flat. i can get 20 tires out of one good blade.
