I have a older dodge dana 60 kingpin axle. I want to know if i can use it in my 85 gmc with a gm 14 bolt and gm drivetrain. Or if it will be better to find a gm dana 60.
i think the only critical factor here is what side the pumpkin is on. if its passenger drop you can throw it in, if its driver drop, youve got some body and drivetrain mods to do.
Been discussed before. I believe that the spring perches are closer together on the Dodge D60. Some people run a ratchet strap between the springs to pull them together when installing the axle. The correct way would be to move the springs over (or the perches...kinda hard on the pass side though). I think there may be some offset bushings for the springs to help correct the problem....I could be wrong though.
Yeah there are lots of guys that run Dodge 60's. The perches are 1/4" narrower on each side is the main difference. I believe toomany is correct and there are offset bushings to correct this.
