I need a place to hold tow straps, tools, spares and fluids on my rig. I have a box mounted behind my window but it's blocking my vision when I need to back up. I need some ideas.

Ammo cans seem to be popular around here. The larger ones that have the rubber seal to keep them water tight.

I was thinking about some of those. Can't seem to find them cheap enough.

my blazer has a 3 inch body lift on it and i have been thinking about cutting the rear floor board behind the rear seat and building a 3 inch deep box and using the floor board peice as a lift up door to it

it would hold straps and stuff pretty good and it would be a safe place cause no one would know it was there unless you show them

just a thought i haven't started on it yet

Keep looking, they can be found for cheap. Last year my dad and I were at a military swap meet and a guy had a trailer full of ammo cans. By the last day of the swap he wanted them GONE! he was selling them for like $2 a piece. Needless to say about half our astro van was filled with ammo cans :doah:

im gonna integrate a way to fit some big ass ammo cans snug into the rear of my blazer when i build a cage, i have seen a few people run this setup and it works sweet

Real handy if you get into a fire fight too. A man needs spare ammo!:D

Oh....empty cans? sorry!:p:

I don't know how much open space you want to keep in the back........

Last Scout II I owned, I bought a truck tool box for a mini truck. It fit between the wheelwells, bolted through the floor. Plenty of room for spare axles, etc.:D
