In my shop. Doing stuff.
I have a chance to buy a 1964 C10, 2wd, long bed. Restored I am guessing in the mid 80s. Good 10 foot truck. I could not find any rust. The tires are so old they have the pre "week/year" date codes, so junk. Unknown 350 with a slight lope. 3 on the tree. :doah:Interior needs nothing except the horn bar put back on. It was having light issues when it was parked in a really nice trailer 3 years ago. Fires and yard drives on the old fuel. I told him to quit driving it because the aluminum carrier bearing bracket is broken and the drive shaft is spinning on the cross member. Carb leaks, of course. Bed wood looks to be original 1964, rotted. The truck is real straight. The paint prep sucked. A lot of bubbling and peeling. Would be a good driver.

What is it worth?

They have zero sentimental attachment. Belonged to a friend who passed away with no heirs.

There is also the possibility of a restored 4x4 frame, rolling, to go with it. They are going to get pictures.

Optional chrome rear bumper.
Rode around in the bed of one of those for many of my childhood years, whole little league team to batting cages many times.

Good times

Haven't a clue on value

Heres a couple sold, not apples to apples but something for ball parking….
I would say 5-6000.

Im thinking the driveshaft issue, the electrical issue, unknown engine, three on the tree, all deductions, and that paint is headed for big problems in the near future. That wont be cheap as it needs a complete strip down to metal.
I don't mean to criticize a friends rig, but just reinforcing the obvious, and prices are down right now too.

sorry 4k offer is insult . . . but it does have issues and paint is a big one .

hope they do not give it away .

Wow! That brings back alot of memories. Grandpa had same year 292 straight 6 with 3 on the tree. Dad later traded him a vega wagon for it and we drove it for a couple years before trading it off. Seems like ours had a white top but was a custom.

The 4 K offer seems way more in line than 8 K.

It’s a long bed. Instant deduction. Sorry long bed guys, but it’s just not as popular, even less in a down market.

64-66 are my favorite years of the 60-66 trucks for the windshield style. I don’t like the dogleg doors on the earlier ones.

But still I don’t think a 4k offer is out of line for a long bed that needs a lot of work. Outside of fixing the driveshaft I’d drive the crap out of it as is.

Is the rear suspension trailing arm with coils or leaf?
Chevys had coil as standard and leaf's were an option, GMC was leaf standard and coils were an option.

Not over here.
I see them all the time between $2000 and $4000.
The $4000 ones are in better shape than this one
