and as for this. it's kinda hard when you're 6'4" and your legs take up the engine compartment. i'm constantly like wrapped up in the alt., fan and such

Yeah, I do that too!

My wheelwell covers are off so I have easy access to the engine bay, and even a nice place to sit (tire)!!

Yeah, i'm 6'8", I hear ya there. Plenty of room in that engine compartment, but I don't fold up that easily

I got one of those for Christmas a couple years back, all I have to say about it is that it is AMAZING!!! I couldnt imagine working on the truck with out it now!

Get adda here :eek1: !!!

Really????

You're definitely in the 5% bracket!

Im not 6'8 , but I am really disabled , so its just as hard or harder for me to get in there , or bend over for more than 30 mins... :(
Thats why I was looking at these kind of things. Working under it is not a problem at all though , I have a cool thick padded creapper with the 5" wheels :haha:

Who has plans to build one outa scrap wood? :weld: :grind: :hack: :1zhelp:

yep, for real. My dad is 6'9", one brother is my height, and I even have a tall sister who is 6'3"

my dads 6'9 but sadly im only 5'10 i can fold up pretty easily on the core support with my feet on each frame rail.

There is one of those at the shop where I do most of my work, and I couldn't imagine doing work on my K5 without it. When I was younger, getting under the hood of my dad's high boy was no problem, but now that I am older and fatter, and 6'4" I just can't fold myself up that much. Well worth the cost in my opinion.

You need more lift so you can just sit under the truck :)

Man we have a lot of tall dudes around here...I'm 6'-1" and still growin' like a weed so I'll be up there with you all soon enough!
That would definately be a handy tool to have in the garage...my ribs are tired of sitting on the fan shroud/radiator...

Yeah in the picture I am sitting on the tire with my feet on the spring. 11" lift with 44's, so there is plenty of room there. If I take the tire off I just stand in the whee well, thats how I installed my headers. with inner fender liners you could not do that. I mostly posted the picture because it makes me laugh, I look like an idiot.

I would love to have one of the creepers you posted a link to. I just don't have the $200 to buy it. I just don't work under the hood often enough to justify it. and when I do most of the time I lean through the wheel well and lay my chest on the tire. mostly to check fluid levels. I only need to pop the hood to check the trans, everything else I can do with it closed.

Thanks for saying that - I didn't want to be the first one to say or think something like that . . .:haha:

I was telling my daughter I might get a little bit taller tires when these wear out.
She asked how we both would get in , because she is only 4' and I'm 5'10" . We need steps on the side as it is now. :haha:

Now I know how all of ya`ll can have 35 plus tires and still get in.... your all giants :eek1:

I bet I can find enough scrap wood to build something like that , Its just 2x4`s and a small piece of plywood.
I would just have to buy some locking casters.

Then I would just have to find a place to store it in my 2bedroom apt AND hide it from my ol lady.... :p:

Time for a recessed driveway. Of course that only works when you are getting in at home, not sure what you would do when you got to your location.
