Need some urgent help, have to make a decision today. I have a chance to get these King Shocks at a fair price. can anyone help me out? I have a 70 K5 with one tons and a 6" lift. Can I use these with a shock hoop up front and if so, how much travel do you think I could get out of it? Somethin tells me these are too short for the front?!

2-FRONT King 2.5 Pre-Runner 8" Travel Smooth Body Remote Reservoir Shock custom anodized black, Extended Length: 24", Collasped Length: 16"
Body Diameter: 2.5", Shaft Size: 7/8"
2- REAR King 2.5 Pre-Runner 12" Travel Smooth Body Remote Reservoir Shock Shocks custom anodized black,Extended length: 32.65", Collasped Length: 20.65", Body Diameter: 2.5", Shaft Size: 7/8"

If they're usable, I'll buy em today. If not, I'll save the dough and go with the best setup possible. Any recommendations??

Is your suspension pretty much stock other then the lift? If so then these MIGHT work for you as lifted truck shocks don't seem to have too much travel in them. Not sure of the benefits you'll reap in a stiffer spring set up like Rancho or Superlift. If you are looking for bolt in application then I'd say no way. If you want to make it work then there's prolly some fabbing in your future. Any other plans to mod the suspension in the future? If so I don't think I'd invest in these to only have to buy a set again. Was that any help?

I'm not planning on putting them in the stock locations. I wanted to go as vertical as possible. I want this thing to be as usable as possible. (Trail runs and sand dunes mainly) I was thinking of 12" of travel in all 4 corners. Maybe with custom hoops/mounts. These Kings were originally bought for a new F250 F**d. So I figured I'd gather all the info I could before making a decision. I have the Tuff Country lift springs that came w/ the truck. They ride nice, but the ranchos it came with are shot. So I wanted to step up to the plate and do something like that doestch install. But w/ Kings or Bilsteins.
