So, on my 77 bluggy i've always had my steering column acting all weird and way way loose. So i decided to take it apart and wow there are a ton of parts inside. Any who I'm stuck on getting the ignition out, it's the only thing keeping it all tougher still. Any suggestions? My main issue that caused all this crap is the upper part of the tilt wheel was spinning with the lower part. I have no clue as to what would cause this. any advise, and or schematics would be great!
thanks

you probably already looked but in Chilton's or Haynes manual it shows some pretty good pictures that might help. i took apart my friends...that was hell but it all worked out, it just takes a lot of time and lots of :doah:

Great link there UPS helped allot, but now that i've got it mostly apart there are a few broken parts that i'd rather not take apart other columns to find soo... i've opted to get a whole fixed (rather than tilt wheel) one out of a junk yard. Does any one know the year range that will still fit my 77's wiring harness and what not?

Why don't you fix the one you have with new parts from GM.
What is broken?
I have some GM part numbers if you need them.

I'm just done with the whole tilt wheel deal. the rig I'm puttin it in is strictly off road so there is really no need for comfort.

I believe 73-80ish should fit. Not sure what year changed the output shaft in the 80's. Keep your tilt wheel to sell. They are something most people want. Not too hard to fix.
