I was looking for a rear window for m1009, and I was told about a Blazer that was being parted out. Well, I get there and the only part that had been sold was the grill!:waytogo: Well, after I little haggling I ended up buying the whole thing. It is a '78, with 350/TH350/NP203. I actually drove it on the trailer. It was parked because one the freezeplugs on the back of the block rusted out and the guy lost interest. He said it was the third freezeplug to do that, and he said he was tired of fooling with it. It actually runs really good, and the TH350 trans shifts well. It has a 6 lug Dana 44 frontend (which I haven't ever seen before) and the 12 bolt rearend. It has pretty much brand new all terrains on the rear, and a set of fairly new Flowmasters. The body is fair except the driver's rocker. The pasenger side has already been replaced, and there's a new for the driver's side in the back.

nice score..what are your plans?

I'm not sure yet. I know I am going to use the rear window and regulator parts for my M1009, and most likely the top. Mine has a bunch holes for radio wires, and holes in the top of it for a beacon light that was on it.

Looks like it not to bad of shape,44 is right for the year, what did you have to pay for it?

I gave $400 for it. Considering it had a good strong battery, the fairly new Flowmasters and rear tires, along with the stuff I needed, I considered it a steal.

that would be about $3500 around here.

Wow! - that's crazy. $3500 will buy a NICE Blazer down here. Hell, I have less than $1500 in my M1009, and its much nicer than this one with less than 50,000 miles.

I have been thinking it about this evening, and although I am going to use the rear window parts for M1009, I hate to totally cannibalize this thiing. The interior is fair, and if I put the the rocker in the driver's side, it will be fairly decent. I have good hood for it, and the only other rust that is visible is in the corners of the doors, which is typical of the vintage truck. I may pull the engine, go ahead and change all the freeze plugs, and put it back together and keep it as toy, or sell it someone who would appreciate it.

I'm not familiar with the packages on this year Blazers, but it has all the exterior trim, the deluxe interior with the trim on the doors and dash, and it is pretty optioned with PS, PB, A/C and cruise. The fender emblems are missing, but I guess it is a Silverado perhaps?
