Saw an ad in the paper today. Free 69 Chevy truck parts. So I called, then went to check it out. Turns out, the truck was a 67 or 68. Anyhow, I got for free: 4 core 1st Gen radiator, console pictured, taillight lenses, back up light housings and lenses, good seatbelts, aux battery tray. I'm going back tomorrow and get the door latches.:D :D :D :D Woops. Just discovered that the pic of the console did not make it to the computer. The console is a factory 1st Gen piece.

If the truck still has an engine, can you get me some accessories and ship em up?

Need a driver's side alt bracket, short water pump, and power steering pump bracket :)

when you say 67 or 68 and console, do you mean the "buddy buckets" with the fold down center seat? if so, EXCELLENT score.

if its the plastic console with the seatbelt or cup holders, its a '69 or newer...still a good score!

yeah if its really a 67 or 68 and factory bucket then theres a rare score, ive never personally see one but ive seen pics

the closest ive ever seen in person was in a 68 panel delivery i had years ago with the factory flat style buckets

but not the same as pickup ones

and no console in them

67= no side markers

68-72= side markers

5th digit of vin code will be a 7 or an 8

last digit of the year

if its a chevy, not gmc anyways

is it a 10 or a 20 or a 30 ?

third digit of vin code will be 1, 2, or 3

1- 10
2= 20
3= 30

have Z84 CSt package or
Z62 custom ? or anything like that ?
headliner in it is a quick way to tell if its a high end, also if it doesnt have just std metal door panels

whole truck woulda been better, sounds like its probably high option one

poor truck... :(

sad..

first gens were the best gm trucks ever built imho

by FAR

and especially the 68's

but im biased cuz i think the 67/68 look the best and a 68 was the first gm vehicle i ever owned, had many 67-72 since, of all sizes and kinds

good luck

This truck is a hodge podge of parts. The trim says 20 on the fenders. Has the Custom emblems on the doors. Metal door panels. 2nd gen floor shift column. 1/2 ton axles with divorced 4 speed and T case. The T case shifter is on the drivers side of the tranny shifter!!! Finned drum brakes on front, 6 lug axles. Must be a 68, cause it has the side marker lights. The console I got has the seatbelt holders, wish it was the cupholders. I'm still glad I got it though. Its black, so now I have to paint it to match my interior. All the running gear, including the frame is going under a cherry 66 Custom longbed.

That sounds like a cool score.

The t-case is a Rockwell T221, btw. I had one in my truck (it was married, though) and the shifter was on the driver side. I called it the "Leg Rest";)
until the t-case exploded, that is.
