I take it this is a bad pinion angle?

I don't think it means it a good thing though...

It took me about 5 minutes per side to cut off the perches with a grinder, sawzall, and a hammer.

I've been looking into it and it looks like I'll be replaceing the perch's. Man I'm not looking forward to that. I was informed today that it dogtracks about 8-10":eek1: to the passenger side. I'm thinkin its because of the homemade blocks. I'll have to pick up some more blocks from somewhere to level it out still. possibly new u bolts:confused:. All just to throw it away when I get the tons. Or when this axle goes bad which will be soon I think. pinion is already bad. It leaks and I have about 1/4" or more of in and out play when the D shaft isnt hooked up.

heres the blocks:haha:

Already have been said, but the front of the factory perches have been rolled down. You need new perches. Since the perches are junk you don't have to be nice getting the old ones off.

Yeah I'll be callin kert soon for some new perches. I'll be doing it all outside in the cold. Thats gonna suck.

i guess a 12b shouldnt be that hard to find. But it may be hard to find one that has the same gears. I dont even know what they are yet. I could have mine switched in but there probly bad by now and new ones are out. I'm not putting that much $$ into this axle and It cant wait till I get tons. I need this one for winter. Or else I may be driving the burb in the salt after all:confused::doah:

Dont forget that the rear axle is 3" narrower than the front, so it will make it look like it dogtracks, thought not 8-10". With my 15.5" wide tires, the rear are about an inch out of the fender, but the fronts are 2.5" out.

I got a bad feeling about the dog tracking. If this is the "shorten" crew cab, it could be when the PO shorten the truck, they didn't do it square or even.
You need to get a tape measure out.

The shorten job looks like its done right. I think it may have been Done by a custom shop even. I think the dog tracking is due to the Ghetto blocks they put in.

You will need new u-bolts for sure. I cut my perches off, re-installed them and was off to moab within 2 hours. Its not a big deal.

I'm back on the hunt for tons. I found a set for 900 but their DRW. still a good deal and I'm thinking of doing h1's and mil 37's for now. whole package and in stalling it should be 2k or so. Maybe I can add that to the loan for the GF's car:dunno:

This VVV

if the diff is that bad then better find another axle and be done with it 1 time .

If you don't need SRW hubs, then it's a good deal. If the gears are right, it's even a better deal. For now, if the cash is tight, find another rear axle. If the gears in your truck are stock, then theres a good chance finding another axle for less than new gears, new perches, and time putting the perches in it might be worth searching CL for the matching axle.
