Was playing on some rocks yesterday and heard a pop, clunk, clank or a similar noise from the rear end. I dunno if I hit a rock or broke something. But right after that my, my limtied slip (auburn) kinda quit working. All of a sudden my tires werent hooking up the way the normally do. My right rear would spin like hell and the left would just sit. When I got into the dirt I did a brake stand stand I dug two holes. This unit is about 9 yrs old. I guess its just crapping out on me. Any ideas?

Don't limited slips always let one tire turn?

Try it again on a flat surface. Seriously, when you're on the rocks, a LSD may not have enough torque bias to turn both tires.

The safest thing to do is remove the rear cover and check things out. If there are broken pieces in there, you'll know something is wrong.

It's always given me torque at both wheels on the obstacles. That's why I think it's finally given up the ghost. I'll tear into it later this week!
