'99 Dodge Ram 2500 CTD Regular cab 4x4. The only thing I'm not real sure about is that is has the auto trans. Here is the truck. Is it worth it for $13,995? After watching a few of the vids of the diesel drags, I know that auto trannys can actually take the torque and stuff...What does it take to make an auto survive behind a "bombed" CTD? I wish I was a member at TDR dammit. I need help figuring this out. I think I want a 5/6 spd...But do I need it? I am getting alittle tired of driving at man. trans. An auto would be a nice change of pace. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
 
With a diesel stick with a 6 spd. The NV4500 is problematic behind the diesels unless you spend some coin to upgrade them (which you would be better off spending that money on a 6 spd). The NV4500 also has 1000 rpm shifts which is not very desirable. The NV5600 is closer to 500 rpm shifts and a stronger transmission too.
