When I got my truck back from the bodyshop it seemed like it was running funny. It now vibrates a lot when I just let off the brake petal from a stand still... so when it's going like 1 or 2mph on the brake, it shakes a lot and it's never done this before. When I give it gas it seems like it needs more power to get going or sometimes I'll be on the gas and suddenly it'll give me more power. It's acting like it's not running on all cylinders or maybe it's a vacum leak.

I looked and everything looks fine. The spark plug wires are all hooked up, I cannot find anything that is disconnected either. I am taking this back to the bodyshop and demand they fix what they repaired. See this is why I hate take any of my cars to anyone, but bodywork is something I really cannot do.

If you guys could shead some light on this I would apprecaite it rather then drive it back to the place. I need it for the snow and I have a lot of driving to do today and this weekend.

My Mercury Marauder had a vacum leak about 16 months ago and it was acting a lot worse and was pretty much barly running. The truck runs pretty good, but getting out of the hole, barly moving and idol all seem underpowered.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.
BTW my truck is fuel injected

First, tell us what year truck, motor, engine type mods, etc.

Next, make sure that all plug wires are making good connections and that plugs are good.

What's the timing set at?

When's the last time you replaced the fuel filter?

Why would the body shop have messed with any part of your motor?

A quick way to check for a vacum leak is to spray around the lines with WD40. If you have a leak when the spray hits it the idle will go up.

Sorry I forgot to mention the details. It's a 1990 K5 with a Ram Jet 350 Crate engine. The engine is fuel injected. I have no idea why the bodyshop would do anything under my hood unless it was to remove a fender and there was no work to be done anywhere past the windshild. I have never replaced the fuel filter since the new engine 50,000 miles ago. It just started running funny the next time I got it back. I think I should change the filter anyway and it could use an oil change. I doubt those things will help, but we will see I guess.

Where is the fuel filter on this truck?

Try some dry gas

If it was sitting a the body shop for a while in the winter it probably built up some condensation. Fill the gas tank and put a bottle of dy gas in it.

Turns out it was a few spark plug wires were melted by my Hooker Headers. I needed someone to spray water on those things to find it. Thanks for everything guys!
