I just e-mailed the local military surplus place here in Augusta about some 37" tires for my H1's. I've seen them on ebay for $300-$400 for a set plus shipping so I figured I'd call the local place here to save a trip and to promote local business. Here's what I wrote:

To Whom It May Concern,

Hello! I was needing a quote, and also to see if you even have what I'm looking
for. I need a set (4) of 37" tall tires for a 16.5" rim. If you have anything
bigger than 37" for a 16.5" rim that would be fine as well. Hope to hear back
from you soon. Thank you in advance!

Sincerely,

Charlie Rowe
Now with unbelievable quickness, not even 5 minutes later I swear, I get this return email:

religion) with Jesus Christ who alone offers joy in this life and the sure hope

I almost died!!! I know about the military surplus place in Fayetteville, NC but that's a little haul for me. I'm in no rush for them right now so I can still do some shopping and try to come across some deals. Anyone know of a good place to get tires from that won't break the bank?

I bet shipping from Texas would bring the suck! :doah:Unless you've got some with about 40%-50% tread left for a steal. :D

just do some digging locally, theyre everywhere.
i have about 20 sets of them and they sell pretty regularly. if somebody really wants them i can get 600 for a set of four. normally its about 400 and these are the creme of the crop. 90% plus. the 12 bolts bring in some good change sometimes. sometimes. the 8 bolts and the 36s are a nuisance, almost not worth the trouble anymore.

I have 5 of the military 37 inch tires that are in somewhat decent shape that you can have for free. Just pay for shipping from Abilene Kansas 67410. I think 3 of them still have the rubber runflats in them. I will have to look when i get back to Kansas in few days.

Wow! is that guy telling you that you will go to hell if you don't buy his tires?
He must be a TV Evangelist and selling surplus for Jesus on the side.

I'll try and get a shipping quote but all I'm going to need are the tires. Thanks man!!

:haha: Maybe so! :D

I picked up a set of H1's, 12 bolts, with 37's that have approx. 70% tread left for $300 out of Binger, Oklahoma.

I paid a few bucks more for my 8 bolts because I didn't want the tires. The guy didn't want to dismount them. :haha:

Nope, I'm in Kansas. I found that place on a road trip on the way down to Lawton. Went down looking for derby cars and just happened to go thru Binger so we stopped and found the H1's and 37's.
