This is my 1966 Chevrolet C20 Truck. I built this truck from the ground up and am unable to finish it. It is powered by a 1966 396 C.U. BIG BLOCK. I had all the machine work done by Jerry Peckham at Peckham Precision Engines here in Grants Pass. I assembled the engine, and now has about 20,000 miles on it. It is bored .30 over, has all roller valve train, and throttle body fuel injection off of a 1991 454 BIG BLOCK. The transmission is a manual SM 465 with a super low "granny gear". The trans is mated to a cast-iron NP205 transfer case. The front axle is a Dana 60 with chromoly axle shafts, ARB air locking differential, and 4:88 gears. I fabricated the fully hydraulic steering from scratch, and the steering ram, steering pump, and pump resevior is purchased from PSC engineering. The rear axle is a Corperate 14 bolt with 4:88 gears and a detroit locker. It has a disc brake conversion on the rear axle, with chromoly shafts. The frame is completely boxed with a four link in front. I had fabricated and welded the front shock hoops and installed 16" FOX racing coil-overs. The interior is totally finished with VDO custom gauges, and I painted it a (base-coat/clear-coat) titanium metalic. The seat is brand new, and has all new door rubber, and door guts. It has a brand new floor mat, and I "Rhino lined" the floor boards. It has a bad-ass stereo system with C.D. player, two J.L. audio W-1 10" subs behind the seat, sound stream amp, Rockwood front amp to power the front pioneer door speakers.

ive always wanted one of those style trucks.there is one down the street for sale right now for 4 grand.only 2 wheel drive but i always liked tha body style.he has alot of good parts into it already.id say its worth at least 8to12 thou as it sits if its rust free.with all that stuff build on it i wonder what more he wanted too do since it says he doesnt have time to finish building it.looks like it just mostly needs finish body work and some paint.

NICE...I have a 64, but it's 2 wheel drive...always wanted a 4 wheel drive.

When I lived in Idaho and Oregon, I saw many 60-66 4 wheel drive trucks as well as Suburbans...most people would not part with them...it was very difficult to find a factory 4 wheel drive 60-66 for sale.

I would love more than anything to find a 64/65 crew cab and swap it onto a 73-91 crew cab 4x4 frame and drop a cummins into it for a work/tow vehicle! That would be the sickest truck known to man! :D

I see a lot of 2wd's in people's driveways around here, and there's a pretty cool 4x4 up the road from me that looks almost exactly like the one pictured above, except the drivetrain and suspension are completely different.

Cool truck!
He'll never get that kinda money for it though....it IS worth it.
But not in this economy.

Do a search on youtube for a 65 chevy crewcab cummins and you'll see what comes up. Some guy has already done one. Saw a 2wd crewcab on ebay a couple of months ago...not sure what it finally went for...was in San Diego I believe.

Some guy here in town has been trying to sell his 65 factory 4x4 that he rebuilt for awhile now. Will see it pop up on C/L now and then. Very nice...want's $7k.

This is my 65.

that one on youtube is really rad! I love that they swapped on the quad light grille... quad lights on a 60-65 = awesomeness.

My dad used to DD a '60 SWB factory 4x4. Had a wide/fleetside bed.

I've always liked these '60-'66 trucks. I've kind of been keeping my eyes open for a rust free 2wd to buy and convert to 4x as I've got a matching 10 and 14 bolt out of an '80 K20 Sub that I'd like to use to convert it. Ideal tire size would be 35" and depending on the aftermarket availability, I'd like to fit power brakes and steering to it.

Dammit! Seeing this truck above now has my head spinning to build one now. Damn you guys!

Check out this forum...

www.c10forum.com

It's free and covers C10's from 1960 all the way up to now. A lot of cool trucks and a lot of upstanding helpful folk with tons of info just like here. Not too much into offroading as much as bagging and dragging their trucks. Some very cool build threads.

Not a hater, just don't like it. :D Dude can waste his money any way he likes. :wink1:

Different year entirely but i feel your pain!

the rear is dovetailed so it looks funny.

Wow! I'd rock that '66 in a heart beat!! Way cool, not a bad price. Are you going to cut the doors on your truck to give it the full-convertible look? I saw a picture a while back of a 60-66 truck that had been converted into a Blazer like rig. it was pretty awesome.
