I want to buy a plasma table.

I was told years ago.....Pick the three things you enjoy doing the most....Take your most enjoyable two and make them your hobbies. Then take the third one as your job.....You will always be happy.

Great advice

I experienced this when I was working in the cabinet shop.

yup, it's one reason I'm so glad I got out of cars, and into the boat biz... I still love working on my rigs/hotrods on off-hr's...

whereas boats, never had a prob with em till I started working on em, now I despise em.... :haha:

I've also heard pick your hobby/job that pays the most so you can afford to do the other ones as hobbies

True that guys.

On another note. I talked to the bulltear rep some.

I think we are gonna go with a 4'x4' table from them if we do one. In reality, what do you ever need to cut out much bigger than 48" long?

Besides some big signs, or just being able to do a production job and do less material loading.... Seems good to me. Plus less space taken up.

Bull tear tables come with a full water table too, hardened slids, machined aluminum torch mount. Torch height control.

my cousin bought a cutting table last fall. not sure what make, all i know is that he phone,s somewhere in new york for service. and he had a tough time setting it up and getting it to work right. since christmas time he,s got it working good. one oo his employies runs it now. i was there a few weeks ago and the had made gears ,and some kind of wrench like part. there was a pile of them in the shop maybe 40 of each about 3/4 inch thick. you talk about nice work and clean cuts. i was there this week for frame parts for my 42 ford project. his welder was making a new cutting table, the first one had a water bath. if i understand the smoke and steam would get so bad they were wareing masks to finish the jobs. the new table is like a hopper ,and he,s going to hook his fans to the bottom to pull smoke only outside. like some one already said make sure you got good venting. can,t wait to see them new parts:waytogo:!!!

i was waiting on the weather to warm up this morning,so i went to my cousins shop. 5 minute walk -25c here this morning. took a few pictures he wasn,t there .

Adam whats your time frame? Im doing the R&D work at the new shop for their production table right now. Theyre fixing to blow the competition out of the water with both price and quality. You're talking a 5x5 table that can cut every single inch of 4x4 sheet for less than a 2x4 torchmate...

Probably be a few months though.

Well now that we got the iron worker all built up. It will prolly be a bit if we do get one. I think its really gonna cut down on time to build stuff.

Im gonna draw up and have a bunch of templates cut that can be used with the drag tip on the plasma cutter for circles and arcs etc.

So i think it may be on hold for a while. Kinda was all about it, but now seeing how fast we are able to fab by hand.... May not really be worth it :dunno:

If we found a good deal on something though, that may change....
