so after two different incarnations of my front clip I couldn't figure out what to do with it. I hated both versions. the first one was trying to use factory headlight bezels--it looked alright from afar, but up close it really took away from the truck, that and one bezel fell off on the first run

the second versoin really looked like crap--i tried to use the factory grill and make it look kinda like a camaro, with everything behind the grill

hell I dont even have a pic of it it was so bad.

and now what the final product looks like---finally tieing in the front clip to the cage through the rad support and firewall.

it looks crooked but its all level with the bumper---i hit the front passanger side real good so it tweaked the whole clip.

all the tubing will be baby blue:screwy:

That is some fancy tube work there... Giving them dies a work out... :D

the tubework looks pretty cool, and more importantly, well done. but, i think all the messed up sheet metal really takes away from teh whole look. strip it down. shed weight and ugliness at the same time :D.

I like how you did the front. everybody always does lots of straight lengths. I know thats stronger, but a little style never hurt. the sheetmetal does hurt the look though. this is a good shot.

I think it needs a filler plate around the headlights. But it definitly looks better than before!

x2 on the filler plate behind the headlights, try and beat that hood back straight and put some pins in it and it would look sweet:D

I think it looks pretty cool.

I dont agree with ditching the sheet metal all together but if it were mine I would cut more out of the fenders and then lower it a little if possible.

IMO it looks good like it is though.:wink1:

looks awesome man. some thing that would make it look real clean would be painting the rad. core support black. if you paint everything behind the grill a solid black color, then it will add more depth. that way no headlight light sheet metal would be neccesary. not that it is in the first place:waytogo: :saweet:

i'm also very interested in what kind of tubing bender you have, those are some sharp bends. fabrication look great.

Bender is a JD2, 1 3/4, 5.5 clr. I actually wanted to mimick the origional light bezel but the bend that I have (I think the tightest bend) was still too wide. so I just kept on going and thats what I ended up with around the lights. It's not exactly what I wanted, but it will definately work. Next up is the doors, or lack there of. I dont kinow exactly how I am going to do it.

I am definately not going to ditch sheet metal--(i still want it to look like a truck) so that is not an option "right now"---eventually I will beat the truck enought that sheel metal will be a past dream, but for now I want to keep it.

I think Im just going to bring my rig down to ya and let you finish it for me.:D
Looks good!!!

Hey Scoobydannn sorry this is off the subject but you responded to one of my posts a few weeks ago. (thanks) It was a post about boxing my frame and you posted some pictures. (thanks again) I was wondering if you could show a picture of your vertical welds, did you stitch weld there also? And I noticed you had holes to keep access to some bolts. Did you do that every where you had bolts you might want to get to? If you have the time, I would appreciate it THANKS!!!! And yeah your truck looks cool, it will look good when you paint the tubing to match.
