but I was informed of its many downfalls today by a guy that has forgotten more about 4x4s than i will ever hope to know at the local Car Show.

1. Single beadlocks..trash cause people blow inner beads all the time. H1 wheels or Stazworks are the only hardcore wheels despite the fact there are not many tires left for 16.5 wheels. H1 rock rings also dont dent like my inferior Rockathons.

2. My tires suck..I should run LTBs..they say LTB on the side..I'm confused now.

3. Balljoint Dana 60's are weak..But mine is a Kingpin axle..what are you looking at?

4. 14 Bolts are weaker than a Dana 60 rear..I should run one of them instead. Lunchbox style lockers in the 14 Bolt are no good cause they don't replace the weak 14B carrier.

5. I should run link suspension cause leafs suck, but I can't cause I have 40's...Weird Im parked next to a linked rig on 44's...

6. I should lift it more if I want to run 42's cause center of gravity is not really a big deal just an internet thing..

7. Hydro assist is ok, but I should plan for full hydro cause anything else doesn't work as good.

8. My stock U-joints on my 1 Ton axles should be replaced yesterday. I don't know how they didn't fail driving it there.

9. I'm planning on building a cage from 1.75 HREW .120 wall. HREW sucks it should be DOM. I have a Pro Tools bender..its ok, but not as good as his JD2.

10. I have a Lincoln 175, but its borderline for welding .120 wall tube. I should get a Miller 210 like him.

11. Oh yeah!! Selectable lockers suck. If you are hardcore your locker should always be locked. Full Hydro will make your rig turn regarless.. Detroit or go home! While I may agree partially with the Detroit thing with the trails up here it is a different story.

Oh and he has never wheeled here before by the way.

Holy ****! if I would have had one more drink in me I prolly would have punched this dumb **** in the throat! I just kept telling him to bring his rig out and we can see how it does. His rig by the way is a Nissan Hardbody (which he was very vague about) leaf sprung SAS with 35" LTBs on H1's of course (I think) Dana 60 rear dana 44 front with Unobtanium shafts and 300M joints and I think an Exo. Oooooh and all the **** he talked about benders and welders...he pays somebody else to do his work. He can't weld or fabricate!

Im going to cry myself to sleep tonight and try to be a Man tomorrow!

that was pretty good
I mine as well sell my junk, not even worth the gas I put in it

Wait, was his name Timmay?

Sure, anybody can talk trash over the internet. It takes the truly self-delusional type to try it in person.

It would be great to see this guy talking to Jeff Gordon..."you can't run those tires. They have to be matched perfect and staggered special to hold the turn. And right-hand turns are faster..."

Then he can strike up a conversation with Bob Chandler...

Wait! Hold on, do you mind? I need to go find a pencil and some paper..... I need to write all this stuff down!!!

:D

:usaflag:

Everything else was somewhat a matter of opinion and i could let go but i love how hes actually disregading gravity here :haha:

I'm pretty sure his name was "DICK"

ha. I have met a few of those. I just let them say what they think they know and walk away saying I'll never be that schmuck.

See what I like to do with guys like them is sarcastically go "O geeze really? Ya dont say". Then when their done rambling on I usually tear them apart about how wrong/contradictory/stupid all theyre comments are.

the ones that drive me crazy like that are the "#'s matching, only factory original" types at the local car shows.....

personally, I found that sh*t exceptionally boring and easy.. I worked in a resto shop, did vettes, buicks, etc, all original..... it's just assembling parts, the hard part, design and fab has been done for ya...

they used to make me laugh, come around my Chevelles with the "thats not correct" bs....

the funny part was nobody would be looking at their "correct" stuff, meanwhile I'd have a crowd around my pile o' junk checking out custom switch panels, polished firewall, etc......

guess it made em feel good about themselves.... as long as I like my stuff I could give a rats arse what they thought....

what an asshat.let me get rid of my 14 bolt next week for a 60 rear.and he sais this with a nissan that probably weighs 3500 pounds fully trail loaded.haha.with 6000 pounds most of our rigs weigh, that would not last nearly as long as a 14ff.and he scoffs at gravity.he lost me right there.i guess we all need 15 inch lifts to run our 44s.that will be my next mod i guess to fit his standards.lol.

No doubt. My GTO is in pretty good shape, but it was my daily driver for 10 years. I'd love when someone would ask me to pop the hood and then comment that I had NAPA belts and hoses and not the original AC Delco. "I work at NAPA asshat."

"I work at NAPA asshat."

:haha:

love your goat, makes me miss having a muscle car huge......

I've had a recent one with this chit.... I'll try to keep a long story, semi-long...

my bro in laws little bro was in my high school class.. he was a spoiled little rich boy who's daddy bought him a super clean 67 GTO in high school... meanwhile my bro in law was the hardworking, responsible, etc one.. nother story tho..

anyway.... he's had this car since high school... never built anything else his whole life.... every now and then as daddy would give him money and he would get work done on the car... never did anything himself.. paid to have it qrter'd, painted, motor, etc.... now, that is finally done 25 yrs later, he thinks he's king sh*t...... like it's the be all, end all... talks about what he'd get on barret-jackson, yada, yada....

he scoffs at my rig...... talks sh*t on it...

i haven't the slightest ounce of respect for this guy, i don't care how nice his car is.... but i have respect for the guy down the street driving his semi-ratty 73 camaro around in primer... he's trying, loves muscle cars and works on his own stuff... has what I refer to as hotrod soul.... anybody can open there wallet....

That's what you get for taking your truck to a car show:D We all know the show is on the trail. That said, Kool Deadwood nights is coming to town in a week or two and I'm gunna go pick apart all the high dollar scoots *jealous* of yours and theirs. Don't get your panties in a wad over what "Dick" said. It's your truck! Do you like it? I'll bet you know all the weak area's on it, and you'll fix them......eventually.

I think we need to pool up the $25 for this guy to get a full membership. Cause I'm sure he'll say he's got better things to spend the money on. We really need someone to set us all straight. Obviously we've all done our trucks the wrong way!! LOL I get a kick out of these people... I try to make it entertaining for myself rather than getting mad. It's even better when they "know it all" yet dont have a rig of their own to even begin to prove themselves..... a**hat....

nothing ive ever owned has been bought to let someone else work on it.the whole fun of having a muscle car and now my k5 is seeing how much work i can put into it myself and stand back and and say look what ive done.you definitely feel a better sence of accomplishment when you can do it yourself.its nice every once in a while to have the money if need be to let someone else do something on my newer cars if i dont feel confident doing myself, but i never let anyone else touch the blazer.i get a complex just taking it to the shop to get it inspected when it was roadworthy.my buddy has a 69 gto that is sitting and rusting because his dad willed it to him and his bro and they dont want nothin to do with it and their mom wont let them sell it because the title is still in her custody.it is sad to see a nice matching numbers car sit and rot.

This one really lost me. I humored the guy for a few about the Beadlocks cause it sorta seemed like he knew what he was talking about, but thats where it ends apparently.

I told him that I would prolly link at least the rear sometime in the future and he asked if I was going to go to like 38's or 39's when I do it. Somebody somewhere told him 40" tires and up can't be used with links..

It was actually funny for awhile, but then I had to stop him. He knew just enough terminology to sound like a genius to somebody outside the sport I'm sure. I really hope he brings his rig out to wheel with our club! :wink1:

let me know so when he is on i can add him to my ignore list. :haha:

And the center of gravity thing..yeah! He really really didn't understand why I wanted my rig a little lower especially if i go up in tire size :doah:
