Iac question

I am going fron a 350 TBI to a 454 TBI and need to wire up the different plug/ Do I go by the A B C D on the 2 plugs or do I go by the wire colors.
Blu/blk
Blu/wht
Grn/blk
Grn/wht
My manual doesn't have wiring diagrams in it.
I'm thinking GM went by Colors

What year TBI?

I've got the 1990 manual. It probably doesn't matter for this wiring, but you also usually don't want to guess. Luckily you can easily move the pins around on those connectors, they are weather-pack, right?

The 350 is from my 91 burb and the 454 is from a 90 3500 truck. Two different kind of connectors but I got the one with the 454 but the colors don't match the ABCD on the 2 different plugs. Thats why I'm not sure how to do it. Thanks

Sorry it took so long to get back to the computer, I'm in the garage hooking up the O2 and then the windstar fans.

Thanks, I didn't know they made those. Do you know how the wiring changes in that adapter. That could really help me out. I'm trying to get my truck running.
Anybody else know how it should be rewired. Thanks

Are the connectors different styles (like a metri-pack or whatever vs. weather-pack, etc) or simply different shape or wire orientation?

Most GM stuff doesn't need cut, you just de-pin the connector and move the wires around to where you need them.

Edit: in looking at the pic, it does appear cutting/splicing would be necessary, two different connector/pin styles.

On the big block metri-pac connector:
Green/Black= A
Green/White= B
Blue/black= C
Blue/White= D

Bigblock72, I have both connectors but the small block connector is wired blu/wht = A
blu/blk = B
grn/blk = C
grn/wht = D
so which way do I wire it. Match the letters or match the colors of the wires ?

The small block IAC is different than a big block IAC. Just wire the big block IAC the way I posted earlier and it will work.

OK, so earlier today I wired it A from sbc to A on bbc iac connector which is wrong. So now I just have to go by colors. Thanks, I'll have to change it later today.
