That's Funny :haha: .....They (dana 60) never make it to the Main yard..

i hate to say it but u are right. every k30 i have seen in a yard has had a 10 bolt or 44 under it. but if u do find one i a main yard pics will be need of the axle under the truck in the yard :haha:

Take a gander in the for sale section of the forum there where a couple in there just the other day for sale. That is where I got mine with a 14FF.

another easy way to ID the axle is the passenger side has only one u bolt. it uses two studs that thread into the housing to bolt the leaf pack down. from what ive seen everyone is right about them not being in junkyards. i only saw one and it was there for two days and the entire both axles and most of the drivetrain were bought by one guy

a dana 44 uses 4 ubolts a dana 60 uses three and 2 studs. 2 ubolts on the drivers side one ubolt and 2 studs on the passanger side

Here to tell the difference between a 44 and a 60 try to pick up one end of the diff. If you can pick it up then its a 44 or a 10 bolt. 60's are f*ckin heavy ass biotches. Ask me how I got my hernia.

:haha: Well that is one way of figuring it out. Sounds painful. I need to bring home a 60 and 14ff. Only problem is most of my buddies are gone away. Don't think I will get them in the k5 myself. Got to figure it out before someone else does. They are sitting in the woods right now still attached to a trashed k30.

thanks. there are quite a few trashed k30s with the 1 ton stuff still on them out here. i havent seen anyone else that wants to take off some 1 tons out here. i found about 8-9 k30s that were in great condidtion and about 10 others that were trashed. the 14bff i got only had 50,000 miles on it. i got it off of a rolled k30...even the brakes were brand new. i am gonna go find those d60s that i thought i saw last time...i believe they were 60s and not 44s. thanks.
