That's right...$475.00 CANADIAN dollars for a 1993 NV4500.

New from GM it was donated to a automotive school but was never touched, torn apart or installed in anything.

I bought it from a guy who worked with the auto class teacher. He was going to put it in his Jeep but being a GM NV4500 the overall length was too long so he let it sit for the last 5 years.

The surafce rust is from sitting outside for 6 months.

I took the shifter plate off and it looks perfect inside. The gears and shift forks do not even have any wear marks.

The bottom of the case has some minor suface rust on the inside but I'll take care of that with a sand blaster.

Here are a few pic's of the cast in numbers.Anyone know what these number mean?
This one is on top of the shifter plate.

This one is on the side of the 5th gear cover.

The next two are on the side of the main body of the trans.

:haha:

bob... is that you? Why do you need that for your mall crawling that you do? Nice score! How you been?

Ya...it me.
Been well Branndon.
I've been on the lookout for a NV4500 eversince my govenor gear left me high and dry on our way to Blazer-Fest...remember that?

I'm in the semi-active mode of looking for a 4x4 1st gen Suburban
and /or a 73-75 Blazer to build-up like you have done with yours. That's what this NV4500 will be going towards.

I'll be tearing it apart, cleaning it up and making the neccesary improvemnets(5th gear nut issue).

Since it's a 93 it has the low 1st gear,6.34-1

WOW! A 1936 Suburban??!!! That should be sweet, I hardly ever see those. :D

Thats sweet. Around here all the things donated to the schools have to be destroyed after, otherwise id have me a brand new duramax. Are you going to put in it a 4wd or 2wd?

um, i definetly wouldnt worry about the minimal rust inside. also, i hate you!:D

hey bob do they have any more?

I drive right by Petrolia on my way to detroit, i could take this off your hands :D

Sorry Dave...no more available.;)

Greg....smart-ass

sweetk30....I'll try and clean the inside the best I can through the PTO covers but if I'm not satisfied I'll blast it.I was going to Blast the outside anyway.

Anyone have a 1st gen style Manual shifter they don't need?(cheap)

Regarding disassembly, the countershaft will not come out without removing the rear bearing, or at least the cage. With that amount of rust inside I'd be sorely tempted to replace the bearings anyways.

I sourced all my parts through Kyle at Northwest Fab, his prices were the best I found anywhere, and his customer service is great too.

Too bad they stored it outside with no fluid in it -- Some people really are daffed, lol

Now, if only I could find some kid who wrecked his 1 ton that'd sell me one for 150 bucks or so, lol
