id numbers on a 87 10bolt rear axle????

I wondering where I would find the I.D. numbers for ring gear identification, need to find out which gear I have now and replace, I know i can pull the rear cover off but the axle is junk and I just want the numbers, I also need to know what the numbers are for the gears.

on axle tube right hand side towards front top part of axle tube when looking at front of axle with lit laying how it would be mounted under truck

about 6" away from where tube goes into end of diff housing casting

scrape/wire brush whole area til you come across three capitalized stamped in letters

call local chevy dealer parts counter and tell them the three letters and the year make model of the truck

they will tell you ratio and if posi or not

this is another first thing i do with GM vehicles i get is check axle ratio
