I've come across some rigging slings with a 60,000 lb rating that have expired (how I got my hands on them). I was planning on making a strap to use to either pull other people out or get myself pulled out with.

What would y'all say is the ideal length for a pull strap?

recovery straps stretch a bit also

rigging slings don't stretch much at all so watch out for that fact.

I've been trying to find some long ones for a while myself. I've got a 20ft that I bought to keep from using chain but its not nearly long enough. I've been places that we've stretched 75-100 feet out just to pull someone out. But maybe its just me.

I know that a real recovery strap will stretch and act like a rubber band kind of. I also know that rigging slings don't stretch much, but will that cause any damage to either of the trucks that it is hooked up to?

If someone or myself is stuck real bad I'll just use my winch and not even worry about trying to yank them out with the strap...

if some one uses a non stretch strap and don't know it and goes at it like a stretch strap its just like using a chain . . . . . vroom vroom = BAM

I carry two kenetic yanker straps. 30/70 ft, the smaller one is great for damn near everything. The extra 70 is for those loooong pulls.
Plus my 100' winch
