ok here we go. i have:

alpine headunit
2 subs(for country music and rock n roll no C(rap)
2 pioneer premiers 6x9's just thrown in the back
?? 5 1/8" door speakers
and ?? amp ro run the door and 6x9's

1. my delemma is where to mount the speakers(6x9)s because when the bass is up i can barely hear them i would like to mount them right behind the drivers/pass seats in a angled box but...any ideas

2. door speakers, i saw someone who made some nice custom wooden speaker mounts that screw into the door which im liking(if you know who you are please pm me with details.

so help me out guys i want to run 4 speakers and have no where to mount them!!! and also need a nice 4 channel amp to run them:D

I put some speakers behind the front seats in the side pannles. I couldn't even tell the factory speakers were in the back when I got the truck. Let alone try to hear them when the top was off. It worked good for my application, but for some speakers with good sound qualiy, you might need to reinforce the board. I think I spent $30 on the Pioneers at ABC Warehouse. I put them in before the cage....don't know if I could do it in the same spot if I were to do it after. On the plus side, it keeps people from stealing my awesome speakers. :haha:

Ive seen people put 6x9 on boxes and mount them up on the roof pointed forward so the sounds come directly to your ears, also why not run tweeters, i got some on my truck and no matter how much bass they are always heard

i like the mounting them on the roof idea in boxes i might try that. but i would need some in the front also

you said you have 5" on the doors right?

id upgrade to 6.5" with good RMS voltage and some nice tweeters, plus a good equalizer can help a lot you can pump up thoose freq and have a nice sound

I replaced the stock dash speakers with a decent pair of 3.5 inch wich helped a lot. The best thing to do with the 6x9 is to put them in some boxes made for them and mount them on top of the rear wheel wells. They should fit right against the seat and are out of the way. For the best sound in the front I would recommend getting some kick panels that will hold a 6.5 mid bass driver and a tweeter (component set).

I went with an alpine head unit , q logic kick panels i found for 90 bucks , with infinity 6.5 kappa seperates with tweeter . Then in the panel like above infinity kappa 6.5 3 ways . Apline r type 10 in a box i built that fits in behind the drivers rear wheel well and the tail gate. and a pdx 1.600 Amp under the seat . Nice sound!
