I am new to Q-jet carbs (I think I have the "late" model) and I went to tune mine and the mixture screws are in-set pretty deep in the carb and it is just about imposable to tune with a needle nose. Is there a tool or longer screws I can get somewhere?

There is a special tool you can get at most parts stores that is designed specifically for turning those screws. It looks like a screwdriver handle with a flexible neck and some different sized bits that will fit down inside the screw heads. Even with this tool, it can still be aggravating.

Or get the right diameter tubing, and smash it flat.

I don't recall if the earlier mix screws have the same taper or not, if they are that would be an easy solution.
