so this is a rather newb question. i opened up my 14bff just the other day for the first time as i was prepping my truck for it's first start up/ride. i noticed that there weren't any spider gears in my 14bff. what's the deal?

They are on the inside of the carrier. Strange, right. I thought so the first time I saw one. This may help, http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/14b_bible/index.html

also, if you look through the slits in the edge, you can see the spiders, or springs for the locker. If it has three places for a carrier shaft its a govlock. Search around, and you can find most anything.

how many holes are in the carrier to look through to where the spiders would be?

get a pic at more of an angle to the carrier, like fron the side of the ring gear, not just overhead

open carrier, i think i can see just the edge of the spiders in the little window on the left.

i wish people would search on stuff like this, there are 8154676 gazillions threads saying the asking exact thing as this one, all with answers...

Yeah its an open case, but cant tell if it has a detroit form your angle. Look in the side, youll either see a gear or a spring. I agree, not to be an ass like some forums, but try a search.
