Since I am having trouble even finding the search function, I will have to ask a question that has no doubt been asked several times before.

How do I ID an NV4500 that came out of a 4x4 Chevy?

I dont really care what gear ratio first is as I already have a doubler, but I would really like the overdrive from an NV4500.

1 1/8" 10 spline input, 32 spline output. Those two things pretty much guarantee it's a GM NV4500. The Dodge ones would be 29 spline output, and some later models had a 1 3/8" iput gear.

Trusty: IIRC, the 92+ IFS were the only ones avaliable with the NV4500-

Then again, I recall that they were avaliable on the 3500HD's in 88? (Or so I recall, I cant say for certain).

I do know the ones on the 92+ have the clutch fork on the right side, not the left side.

Sorry, shoulda mentioned I have an aftermarket bellhousing and release fork on my NV4500...:doah: and '92 was the first year for the NV4500.
