First time user. How do you identify Dana 60 gear ratios? Where is the tag located? Thanks.

Identifying Dana 60 gear ratios

The factory tag should be bolted to the diff cover. however if there is no tag you can open the cover up and look on the ring gear(you may have to turn the gear to find it) there will be a number like 41 10 and that will identify the gears inside. i perfer this message as sometimes you can have a tag on a diff that has differant gears inside.

Mine had a tag bolted to the diff, but I could see how that could be left off if someone took the cover off and forgot to put the tag back on.
