Allright now...

I feel completely stupid for having to ask this. My hood closes just fine in the front but everytime I have to walk to each side of the truck to push down the rear of the hood. Is there an adjustment I can make or some type of new bracket or spring to correct this?

I think that means that the hinge is binding. Just try to lubricate it real good.

Out of curiousity, has anyone replaced the springs with a set of lift shocks (they look like mini shock absorbers)? Just leaving the hinge as is and remove the spring and mount the lift shocks in place. I know that Thumper did this to his 2nd gen Blazer but wondering if it would work on a 1st gen also seeing that the hood is heavier than a 2nd gen.

I am running without any springs and it's kinda scary some times.when i get a good gust of wind the hood lifts up and seems it's gonna fly out. I hope it don't.

ARQ.

Your hinges are worn out, I went down to the gm dealer 2 years ago & paid 120.00 for new hinges & springs. My hood closes flush & opens all the way, automatically when I release the latch. later,,,,,

My hood does the same thing.
I have to push down at the back of it after i close it, and then on big bumps the back part of the hood will come back up again.
I've heared that it's just the springs that are worn out.
I bought new springs from LMC for something like $8 a piece i think. I just have to figure out how to get them in now. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
