idle problems

gotta 350 w/ a q-jet. when i start it up, it runs great. choke pulls off when it should, but after i've been driving for a while and i come to a stop, it idles way high. wtf?? anybody know why? /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

try spraying some carb cleaner on all the moving parts something may be gummed up and being sticky /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

There are a lot of emissions things that change as the engine warms up, but since yours is early 70's, I don't know if any of them apply. Do you have A/C or cruise?
