before i built my motor the old 350/465/208 combo with 3.73 gears and 33 inch tall tires could crawl a slight angle in granny 2wd without any gas applyed.

now it stalls out on the same amount of incline with a mild built 350/465/208 combo with 4.56 gears and 35's

my idle is around 650-700, is it set to low?

I did the same thing a while back when I did the first build of my blazer. I went to a vortec'd 350, and replaced the quadrajet with a brand new 670cfm truck avenger. Had it professionally installed and tuned, had a ton of problems with it whenever I would get at an angle. I am sure that not all of the 670's are like that, otherwise you would hear a ton of bad stuff about them. I am just saying that when I pulled that carb off, and swapped on the edelbrock off road AVS carb. My whole world changed when it came to that truck. I wish so much that edelbrock offered that carb in a 750ish cfm version. I run a truck avenger 770 on my big block, and ran the same model on a truck I used to have and have had no problems with it. But that 670 was garbage on my 350.

i had to change my jets and accel pump cam to get my truck avenger right.. i had a bogg and miss when hitting the throttle... cant tell you how i would have done on idle up a hill... I was usually pedal down up sandy hills (dont do rocks)
