Idle Speed Adjustment

I was just wondering what the idle speed (or RPM) is supposed to be set at on a .020 over 2.8 v6 4by4? (If the .020 even matters) My Haynes manual is unable to even explain the simplest procedures, and im getting a million different answers on what it should be: Like 650, and 750... Any ideas???

I forgot to add that it's a 1985 s-10, with an E2SE Carb. Which naturally has only one adjustment screw on it...

Still have that emission control sticker under the hood? If so, the idle speed should probably be on that.
