it's a-fuggin-nother.

I swear cars have personality and I am beginning to think my burban hates me.

I dropped almost $500 on complete new brakes (new rotors, seals, bearings, and severe duty pads on front; and a disc brake conversion on the rear) and at the very end of the front brake job, She starts pissing me off. I ruined 3 seals on the drivers side rotor and after I finally got the seal in, I go to re-attach the caliper, the bolts aren't tightening. The means the knuckle is stripped where the bolts go in.

Ohh great.

Ohh CRAP. That means I have driven over 2000 miles since I bought her (ALL towing miles) and I had a caliper that could not be tightened. that explains the pucker factor when I hit the brakes. I thought it was worn A-Arm bushings.

So, Now for the reason I am creating this time robbing thread.

Is it possible to repair the steering knuckle I have (via helicoil or similar), Or should I plan a trip to the local pick and pull yard?

So noone knows if it is possible to repair my steering knuckle? I really don't want to go through the hassle of replacing the whole damn thing.....

what year is your burb?
what front axle do you have?
I on most of the trucks the calipers bolt to a seperate plate held to the knuckle not the knuckle itself.

The Burban is an 89 R1500, However I swapped over the entire suspension and braking system from my old 73 C20. On the C20, the caliper bolts go through the caliper, through the steering knuckle and threads into the knuckle.
