If You Hate Aftermarket TBI Systems:

Ain't nothing but operator error. Break in you new motor with a good known carb. Then switch to the self learning efi.
Having installed 1 terminator X, and 4 different sniper systems I can agree with this. Needless to say I'm a big fan of Holley.

That is the main point of the videos is that these TBI systems do not learn fast enough, and wash out the cylinders during the most critical part of engine break in. Both videos came to the same conclusion..."Break in you new motor with a good known carb."

Nice. I didn't make it thru either of them!!

They all tend to dump a lot more fuel into them then needed. My guess is it's better to run rich then lean. The cam selection at the initial startup wizard is hot. I always tend to go "stock" even though it isn't.

Since I have a late 80's early 90's GM TBI truck I had to start my new crate engine with the stock GM TBI. Since it relies on an OBDI/ECM I had no choice, but it seems to have worked. I have about 15,000 miles on my crate engine, and it seems to working fine.

So far my experience with aftermarket efi hasn't been great, one tbi and one multiport. I think being mostly universal creates a lot of opportunity for glitches to occur.
