just wondering if anybody has used the 90ish ifs trucks' steering box...
so i can put the steering box inside the frame rail. and do some swing set steering stuff, kind of like wally.

are the steering shaft and the pitman arm splines the same?
same lock to lock turning?
how bout power steering pump line hookups(flare/ oring?)

I think some of the old jeep wagoneers had them too...dont know if they are the same.

Only thing I can help you with is the PS hoses. Should be the same, as long as it is a pre 98 truck. I think the newest trucks use a similar, but bigger, fitting.

*edit* same as in the o-ring style fitting which started around 79-80.

ok..this is from race-dezert..from the mcmillin prerunner..an outside mounted box on the inside....just ideas, thats all...

Just a thought, why not just do the drag link type steering using a 2wd box still mounted on the outside of the frame?

yeah you would end up with a shorter drag link with your steering box closer to the other side, their is a reason they use that kind of mount on ifs trucks
