Ignintion timing block marker, where is it?

Can not find the ignition timing marker on the block. Bought a new one for an 8" harmonic balancer. Do not know where to attach it. Nothing is matching up. Any suggestions? What am I missing here? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

the older 350 truck enignes used a bolt-on tab that used two of the timing cover mounting bolts on the driver side, then later on they started tacking them to the cover itself just above the dampner
