Had to replace my lock cylinder, which was hard to turn originally. (key eventually broke off because of it).

Put in the new lock cylinder and now it will not turn at all. I can grab the pin in the column with needle nose and get a little movement but that's it.
Any ideas or suggestions on what to do?

Could be the electrical switch itself or the rack inside the column. If you remove the two nuts that hold the column to the dash brace you should be able to drop the column down so you can access the switch. It should be held on with two 5/16" bolts. It has slotted adjustment. I would check that first because it's easier to get to. If it's the rack you gotta pull apart the column even more.

Thanks Ed, I'll check it out. It's sitting in the middle of my shop yard and in the way for Monday.

Column is down and the 5/16" bolts are loose. There doesn't seem to be a problem there, but I can't get it to turn enough to see if the switch is causing it?

I'm needing to get in here I suppose? Where do I start? I see three good sized Torx heads in there.
Damn truck needs a push button starter anyways. The PO did a hack job on a few things to say the least.

Ok. So if I pull the three torx bolts and separate the upper bowl will this get me to the rack?

Yes. I think you have to remove the tilt spring if it has tilt. Just take a 1/4" extension or a Phillips screwdriver and push in and turn.Maybe you don't. I think that's if you gotta pull the tilt piece. Never mind.

I got it. The spring that hooks to the ignition cylinder gear and the steering wheel lock was dislodged and stuck in the rack gears.

Thanks for the help

Loctite the 3 torx bolts good. That will keep you from getting the dreaded "floppy tilt wheel" syndrome.
