I pulled the column apart and can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong with the ignition cylinder.

This is as far as the cylinder goes in with the key in the "lock" position.

One click forward and it fits and works just fine, but I can't remove the key.

So the problem, the tab that fits into the ignition cylinder will NOT fit into the lock cylinder when it is in the "lock" position.

It's kind of hard to see in this picture but the cylinder is in the "lock" position here and the tab just doesn't match up at all. If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated.

Never encountered this problem before, so my only suggestions are that something isn't aligned right, or you have the wrong part.

I believe I figured out it's the ignition switch rod that is not aligned properly...have not confirmed this yet hopefully I can find some time to have a look tomorrow.
