After a while of my key not wanting to return to run from start and having to wiggle it, it decides now to not allow me to get to the start position. I have plenty of power to the unit and battery but the key will not go to start. Where do i check to remedy this problem? TIA!!!

Might be time to replace the ignition cylinder. You could try putting a lube in it. Use a "dry" lubricant that won't hold dirt. I know WD40 has a dry lubricant. I think there might also be some stuff that is specifically for lock cylinders.

Try another key. The keys wear and don't work all the tumblers.
But it may be the ignition switch itself down on column, under the dash. The contacts can get worn and hang up the shuttle. You can unbolt it from the column and remove the rod from the slot. Using a punch that fits in the switch you can actuate it and see if it is hanging up, disconnect battery 1st. If the switch is not smooth and doesn't spring back from start to run, it's bad simply replace the switch.
While the switch is removed you can try the key and cylinder to see if it feels rough or catches. If there is roughness catching, come back here and we'll get deeper into column repair
