after my road trip this weekend my burb with the 6.2l diesel won't shut off after I take the key out...

It's done it since I've had it, but only for a few seconds at a time. Now it just keeps running. I have to pull the wire off the i.p to get it to stop.

any ideas?

Like my friend always said. You folks would gripe if they hung you with a new rope.

All I ever hear, is "my truck won't start, my truck won't run......"
Now, here you are griping because it won't stop running...

If it quits when you pull the wire off, then it has to be in the switch I would assume. Something is not killing the power to that wire.

Or its backfeeding from somewhere else.

lol...

love ya Fordum :haha:

Only changed one switch in all my years owning these rigs. Didn't know there was an adjustment.

I'll look into it, thanks!

just finished playing with it, no luck...I'll buy a new switch payday.

If THAT doesn't work, I'll rig up a kill switch.:waytogo:

I adjusted the ignition switch, it made no difference.

So after some more research I have learned there is a fuel shut off solenoid in the i.p. cover...

time to break out the multimeter...if the power is shut off to the solenoid then it must be sticking.

thats what i was going to guess. fuel shut off switch.
that died on my 91 dodge, so the PO rigged up a cable think hood pull latch/bicycle cable that you pulled to manually kill the fuel. was hokey as the day is long but it worked.

got a solenoid on order, but I discovered something...

with the key off and the engine running, I simply need to bump the turn signal arm. It shuts right off....:dunno::waytogo:
