The other day when going from Park to Drive it was difficult to get out of drive, like it was stuck in Park. Did it again this morning after I dropped the kid off at school. When I got to work I couldn't turn the ignition off, had to pull the ignition power to kill the motor. I'm thinking it has something to do with a safety feature that kept the truck from starting while in gear? Maybe that broke locking up the tumbler?

I'll limp it home tonight (hopefully) however I need to get this fixed ASAP since it's my only driver right now. I have a new tumbler that's been sitting on the bench for the last year that I can install while I have it apart.

84 w/tilt column

I'm not positive this is the case but on my 83 I figured out it is the ignition switch down on the bottom of the column not lining up correctly and not allowing the tumbler to have full range of motion. I haven't got around to digging into it yet but might be a possibility.

Ended up being a bad tumbler. Almost done getting it back together.
